Rajasthan is very much popular for its colourful history and royal life of the state. This state used to be the home of the Kings, princes, and the Rajputs. For this reason, Rajasthan was popularly known as the “Land of the Kings” or the “Country of the Rajputs”. For a historian, this state is like a gold mine as it houses several Royal forts and palaces to explore. In simple words, the state of Rajasthan attracts several tourists from all over the world primarily due to its traditions, people, culture, and not to forget, the impactful history of the state.

What is not there in Rajasthan? The colourfulness of this state is mainly because of the presence of diverse cultures including dance, art and crafts, folk music, etc. which will simply leave you mesmerized. Some of the most famous dance forms here are Panihari style, Ghoomar dance, etc. Being jovial by nature, Rajasthanis are very much fond of music.

Here in Rajasthan, you can find some of the oldest tribes like the Banjaras, Bhils, Meos, Minas, Lohars, and Gadias. Not only these but also, you will get to taste here some of the delectable dishes, which are found only in this part of the world.

The dresses of the people of Rajasthan are also matching to the colourful personalities of Rajasthani people. Menswear includes the brightly hued turbans, which are also known as the ‘Jaipuri pagri’ or 'Jodhpuri safa’. Along with this, they wear a frock-like garment made of cotton in the upper body and the lower portion is covered with a pyjama or dhoti. As for women, they dress up in a blouse called “choli” and silk made long skirt called ghagra. The jewelry worn by them includes mostly silver ornaments.

Rajasthan is very popular for its textile production. This state is famous for its colored fabrics, leather products, and embroidery design clothing. Also, mirror works, block-prints, and zari are very famous in this place.
